When I watched the vid again I saw you can only install boot2 when you have a white wii bought before 2007. oh and is it possible to put gbc files into wads. Just click file title and download link will popup.
But Nintendo fixed the "bug" that allowed BootMii-boot2 installation on newer Wiis.īootMii-IOS is useful for making a NAND backup BUT it doesn't allow you to restore it, (or it can but it isn't recommended) because BootMii-IOS is stored in the NAND like other IOSes, so restoring a NAND with it would overwrite itself (I'm not really sure about this, I remember reading stuff like this some time ago)īut, as long as you know what you're doing, you shouldn't worry that much about bricks Games wii wad shared files: Here you can find games wii wad shared files we have found in our database. Download Nintendo Wii ROMs and play free games on your computer or phone.
I'm pretty sure that's the other way around.īootMii as Boot2 is the "good" way of installing BootMii, it makes your Wii unbrickable, because no matter what goes wrong, you can restore a NAND backup and everything is alright. The main purpouse of Wii WAD files is to install custom made channels and cIOS. You can ONLY install bootmii as iOS if you have a white wii bought before 2007. (Nope doesn't work, kind of weird because I selected the same IOS)Īlso, I installed the wad WITHOUT installing a cIOS so I don't see why one is needed.Īnd I know that you have to install bootmii as boot2 then.
It probably would have worked on Multi Mod Manager and Wad Manager too if I selected IOS 58. Maybe I was choosing the wrong IOS because I was selecting IOS 36 and IOS 249 on Wad Manager and Multi Mod Manager and I was getting that 2011 error. I loaded up the emulated Nand with bootmii and started up WAD Manager app through the Homebrew Filter Channel. I used Pimp My Wii to install the wad and it installed fine and I selected IOS 58 when installing. Also, what is all this IOS stuff about? I know what an IOS is but how does this work when installing a wad?ĮDIT: I figured it out and got it working. How safe are wads? I don't wanna install one and end up breaking my Wii. I have looked up some information about wad files and how they work but there are still a couple of things I am not sure about. I have the homebrew channel installed so I think my Wii is ready to install wad files.
